Dr. Paul Yuan, a senior acupuncturist and physical therapist, graduated Shanghai Medical University in 1982 trained as a western medicine doctor major in physical therapy. After that he furthered his studies in Traditional Chinese medicine in Shanghai Changhai Hospital, Huangpu Central Hospital and Shanghai College of Chinese Medicine and practice in both fields as a well known integreated medicine practitioner and teached in Shanghai Medical University and published a few papers on Chinese Physical Medicine Magzine. Some successful cases:
1. A fifty-nine-year-old Mr. Xu living in Flushing, NY . was sent to hospital for a stroke of apoplexy in December 1996. Twenty days later, he left hospital when his conditions became stable. His right hand and leg, however, were paralyzed. His facial complexion was famished, and his tongue had a thick white coating. According to Chinese medicine, the apoplexy was caused by deficiency of qi and yang, which blocked the blood vessels mainly in brain.
