| The Holistic World Wide WebLinks by Condition"One farmer says to me, 'You cannot live on vegetable food solely, for it
furnishes nothing to make bones with,' and . . . all the while he walks behind his oxen, which, with vegetable-made bones, jerk him and his lumbering
plow along in spite of every obstacle."
Henry David Thoreau

- Allergies
- A better term for "allergies" is "hypersensitivities". The concept of
allergies is more than 80 years old and only includes the original ideas of IGE, IGM and IGA serum sensitivities. These can be successfully
identified by skin testing.
However, for the past 40 years it has been known that only about 5% of all the reactions experienced from environmental substances (food, chemicals,
etc.) are mediated via the serum sensitivity system. All the rest are mediated via "cellular immunity". These are not successfully identified via
skin testing. The laboratory of the bodymind is the only one sophisticated enough to do this kind of testing.

- Cancer
- We all know that cancer is much more likely in one with poor immunity. With
the Human Genome Project we are also learning how to find those people with heightened susceptibility to cancer being the outcome rather than
allergy, sarcoid, eczema and the many, many autoimmune conditions that are also related to immune reserves.

- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- An illness characterized by prolonged, debilitating fatigue
and multiple nonspecific symptoms such as headaches, recurrent sore throats, muscle and joint pains, and cognitive complaints. Profound fatigue,
the hallmark of the disorder, can come on suddenly or gradually and persists or recurs throughout the period of illness.

and attachments of intercostal muscles to the ribs, due to
persistant "bracing" of the intercostal muscles.

- Emphysema
- Emphysema is a condition in which there is over-inflation of structures
in the lungs known as alveoli or air sacs. This over-inflation results from a breakdown of the walls of the alveoli, which causes a decrease in
respiratory function (the way the lungs work) and often, breathlessness.
Early symptoms of emphysema include shortness of breath and cough. Emphysema and chronic bronchitis together comprise chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease (COPD).
- Epstein Barr Virus
- All of these chronic conditions are caused by the same basic
mechanisms and are resolved by very similar approaches which deal with those causes or at least enough of the aggravating mechanisms that the
bodymind can re-establish a much healthier homeodynamic. Which syndrome any individual experiences is a lot more due to genetic susceptibility of
that individual than it is to any actual causes.

- Fibromyalgia
- Fibromyalgia/Fibromyositis/Arthritis are all the same process--just at
different stages. SO, the same approach that works for one will work for any other. The further the process has progressed, the more likely there
will be permanent damage due to calcium deposits or actual erosion of bone.

- Pemphigus
- The term pemphigus stems from the Greek pemphix (blister) and describes
a group of chronic blistering skin diseases in which autoantibodies are directed against the cell surface of keratinocytes, resulting in the loss
of cohesion between epidermal cells, through a process called acantholysis. Pemphigus is divided into pemphigus vulgaris (PV) with a suprabasal
acantholysis and pemphigus foliaceus (PF) with acantholysis in the upper parts of the epidermis. With these definitions in mind, we could classify
pemphigus vegetans and pemphigus erythematosus, types of pemphigus with certain unique clinical features, as subtypes of PV and PF, respectively.
- Pilonidal Cyst
- A special kind of abscess that occurs in the cleft between
the buttocks. Forms frequently in adolescence. Any tract under the skin that contains loose hair. A hair-containing cyst in the dermis or
subcutaneous tissues, usually connected to the surface of the skin by a sinus tract; generally situated in the scarococcygeal region. Also
called sacrococcygeal cyst. A person with a pilonidal sinus is usually not born with it but develops it in his or her late teens, twenties,
or thirties. It occurs more often in overweight people and in men more often than in women.
